What is e-passport and how does it work?
The Act on compulsory delivery of electronic material came into force on January 1, 2015. It means that municipalities and authorities must deliver certain electronic material to the National Library. But what must be delivered? And how?
The mandatory delivery of electronic material sounds technical and complicated. In simple terms, it is about the Royal Library preserving digital material as part of the Swedish cultural heritage.
Materials that must be delivered to the Royal Library include annual reports and educational materials. However, the e-duty does not mean that everything created digitally must be archived. News items and job vacancies are examples of things that are not subject to mandatory delivery.
But how should your organisation approach this? And how do you get started? Who better to clarify the concepts and explain what e-duty is, than the Royal Library itself?
