Accessibility out of the box
What happens when several different CMS providers around the world put their heads together to develop smart, built-in accessibility support? That's exactly what the We4Authors project will show.
For some time now, Sitevision has been involved in a large EU project that involves several actors working together to find ways to build in, or create the best conditions for good accessibility support in our respective solutions.
Web for everyone
We hope it comes as no surprise that we at Sitevision have long focused on accessibility. Ever since the beginning, we have worked to facilitate the work of developing web for everyone. For us, it goes without saying that everyone should be included and that everyone has the same opportunities to access information. Our mission is to support you who create content in the best possible way.
The We4Authors project
The EU-funded project is called We4Authors and it is now in its final phase. Together with other partners and members, it has focused on ten common challenges faced by editors and web users. These range from how users can best add alt texts to images to how they create tables or forms. Three points are about how a CMS provider can build in support for accessibility checks of pages, websites and documents.
On several points, Sitevision is very well placed. Table types for ready-made designs of accessible tables, our extended accessibility support and accessibility-adapted forms are such examples. But, of course, we can do better. Of the ten points, we focus on the parts we feel there is potential for improvement and that can help you as a user in the absolute best way.
