Future digital opportunities for the public sector
At the eFörvaltningsdagarna in November, leading actors in the public and private sectors gathered to discuss how digitalisation and new technologies can shape the future of public services. We at Sitevision were there to talk about how AI, digital sovereignty and collaboration can create more efficient and accessible solutions for citizens.
A hot topic during the eGovernment Days was how the public sector can benefit from AI to improve efficiency without compromising quality or compliance. During the conference, several panel discussions addressed the challenges posed by AI and cloud-based solutions – such as GDPR and the need for explainable AI models to build trust. Carl-Henric Svanberg, Chair of the AI Commission, highlighted the importance of an AI strategy to increase efficiency and strengthen cooperation between authorities.
Collaboration platform for the public sector
At Sitevision, we were also involved in many discussions about digital sovereignty as a starting point for public digitalisation efforts.
For example, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency presented its work with SAFOS (Samarbetsplattform för offentlig sektor) – a solution that meets the need for secure cloud services for digital collaboration in the public sector. SAFOS ensures that data stays in Sweden and follows an open protocol that enables interoperability between different authorities. Since 2017, SAFOS has helped to strengthen digital security and independence, and the service is used by several Swedish authorities.
Challenges and opportunities
The importance of business intelligence to identify future challenges and opportunities was also discussed. Factors such as EU directives, technological breakthroughs and global events affect the development of the public sector. A clear roadmap is required for Sweden to keep up with the world.
At Sitevision, we look forward to continuing to contribute to the progress of digitalisation and to working together to create solutions that simplify and improve the everyday lives of both employees and citizens.
