How to build a web organisation that lasts over time
Building a website is one thing – keeping it alive is quite another. In this blog, Yvonne Pauna, Project Manager at B3, shares her top tips for creating a more confident, self-sustaining web organisation. With simple steps and smart routines that make a big difference in the long run.
Working with the web and digital workplaces is about so much more than technology. Of course, knowing the platform is important, but equally crucial is creating good routines for collaboration and knowledge sharing. This is where training comes in as a natural part.

Learning becomes the foundation for success
Feeling confident in the platform makes all the difference. When web communicators and administrators get the right support and continuous training, the work becomes both more fun and more efficient. Together with Sitevision, I see that many organisations get an even better effect when we combine our training starting during the project phase and continuous training during the management phase.
It becomes a bit like a puzzle:
- Sitevision provides the foundation and the breadth
- We create company-adapted training in your particular solution
- We supplement with customised point training, good examples and business intelligence
- The organisation itself builds on this with internal meetings and knowledge sharing
Together it becomes a whole that lasts over time.
Small actions that have a big impact
A simple but effective way to strengthen the web organisation is to appoint a few main editors – two to five people are usually enough, depending on the size of the organisation. They can support other editors, keep the structure together and become natural ambassadors for the work.
Another smart move is to start a web council. It doesn't have to be more advanced than a weekly 30-minute meeting. There you can share tips, raise suggestions for improvement and inspire each other to develop the web step by step.
Big things happen in small ways
Organisations that work this way often find their everyday web communication life easier. Communicators and administrators become more confident, collaboration flows better and websites evolve continuously.
It's not really about big changes – rather small steps that together make a big difference.
