Sweden's Minister of Finance visits Sitevision in Örebro
Last friday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Minister of Finance Elisabeth Svantesson and Member of Parliament Oskar Svärd to our headquarters in Örebro. As a growing Swedish technology company with an important role in digital public services, we had the opportunity to talk about the importance of digitalisation for welfare. And why secure, national digital infrastructure is more important than ever.
A conversation about Sweden's digital development
Today, more than 75% of Sweden's municipalities use Sitevision, along with authorities, regions, municipal and state companies and a growing number of private companies. This trust means so much to us.
It was therefore valuable to be able to tell you more about how we work, how the platform is used in everyday life and how our solutions can contribute to a more efficient, accessible and secure digital administration in society.
Security and stability in focus
We also talked about the rapidly changing security landscape and the importance of digital infrastructure in ensuring that essential services function – even under pressure.
A recent example is this autumn's general election in Norway. During the election, the Norwegian public sector was exposed to extensive denial-of-service attacks. Despite this, the solutions in Sitevision's platform blocked over 85 million malicious calls and, thanks to proactive security work, services had zero minutes of downtime.
This underlines the importance of a robust, secure and national digital infrastructure when it really matters.
The conversation also touched on several of the choices shaping Sweden's digital future:
- how digital sovereignty can be strengthened
- how the public sector can coordinate its digital efforts
- how artificial intelligence can be used in a responsible and transparent way
- how robust digital platforms can reduce costs and improve services
