Mälarenergi launches sustainable intranet in Sitevision
Mälarenergi recently launched its new intranet Merigo in Sitevision. In line with the company's vision of a world without climate impact and from the perspective of sustainable development, they have built a platform that will serve as a hub in the digital workplace. For example, have you ever heard of something as smart as an energy saving mode?
The purpose of Mälarenergi's new intranet, Merigo, is to create a modern, efficient platform for internal communication and collaboration. Efficiency, engagement, relevance and quality are overall impact goals for the intranet.
– This means we've done a lot of work on news feeds, personalisation and social features, as well as making content available on mobile devices. What we have now launched is a first version and a significant step towards the vision: that Merigo will become the digital workplace, the hub of all employees' working day, no matter where they are, says Kajsa Sundberg, project manager at Mälarenergi.
The journey towards zero
Mälarenergi has a clear direction for the entire business – by 2035 they will have achieved net zero fossil emissions. They call it the Journey to Zero.
– It felt natural to include sustainability in the development of the intranet. Users can choose whether they want to use Merigo in "energy saving mode" – a dark mode that will save energy compared to light mode, explains Per Arne Hermansson, who is responsible for content in the project, and continues:
– Then, of course, it is important that Sitevision Cloud is a Green Web Host.
The choice fell on Sitevision
Before Mälarenergi developed the intranet, the project team carried out thorough preparatory work and as part of the procurement, they analysed several possible platforms.
– It soon became clear that Sitevision was the most interesting option, not least because of our high security and stability requirements. But also because we wanted a platform to grow with in future development, says Kajsa Sundberg.
Mälarenergi met with several other companies and organisations that also use Sitevision, who confirmed the impressions and highlighted how easy and intuitive it is for the editors.
– So far, we are very pleased with our choice and we have received very good support in the work, both from Sitevision and our partner Webstep, concludes Per Arne Hermansson.
Congratulations on the launch and good luck with future projects from us at Sitevision. 💚
