A platform independent of other systems
Coordinating five different intranets into a single intranet for more than 2 000 employees from different countries – how does it work? Excellent, says the industrial trading company Alligo.
Background and challenge
When the Swedol Group and three TOOLS companies were to form a joint organisation – Alligo – we were in the middle of a burning pandemic. A new organisation with operations in Sweden, Norway and Finland would be ready within six months without being able to meet and get to know each other properly. Without those conversations at the coffee machine. The need for information was enormous, and a common intranet was urgently needed.

A common platform
Five existing intranets, on different platforms and with different strategies and target audiences, were to be coordinated into one. And quickly.
– It was extremely important for us to get information out. While we had to present new managers, ideas and strategies to the whole organisation and tell them what was happening from one day to the next, there was a travel ban between countries. Our top priority was to create a common platform for the news flow, explains Lovisa Lagerström Lantz, Head of Communications.
Solution
"User-friendly tool"
– And it was precisely the time aspect that was the biggest challenge. We were in a hurry but...
– We succeeded! Everyone involved understood that we had to move fast and that we would have to compromise on the highest visions to land a solution that worked for everyone within the given timeframe.
And part of the solution was to use Sitevision.
– We knew it was a user-friendly tool and they have always been highly rated. We also wanted a platform that worked regardless of what other systems the employees were in.
"The employees' newspaper"
Today, Alligo's intranet has become exactly what it was originally intended to be: the preferred channel for the flow of information. On both mobile and laptop. Here you can find out what is happening in neighboring countries and what applies to returns and customer service. With a smart search function, you can easily find contact details for colleagues, join digital tours and read about and get to know new employees.
The result
What are you most satisfied with?
– That things happen on the intranet all the time, it has become like the employees' Aftonbladet. Our employees value it very highly and the frequency of visits is high. The intranet keeps the company together, which has become crucial for building the "we" feeling, and that makes me both proud and happy.
